A stretch of a busy main route in Northern Westchester is now open after a trailer separated from a truck and hit a retaining wall, police said.
Route 6/202 (Goat Trail) between Route 9D and Route 9 in the town of Cortlandt is now open following a crash on Monday afternoon, April 29, according to Trooper AJ Hicks of the New York State Police.
According to Hicks, the crash happened when a trailer loaded with sheetrock separated from a truck and slammed into a retaining wall along the roadway.
A crane was needed to remove the sheetrock from the trailer to lighten it enough to remove it from the roadway, Hicks added.
No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
